Training and Consultancy

Working with clients for over 10 years means that Adapt (North East) has developed an awareness and understanding about equality and access issues in a rural community.

Training

We can offer a comprehensive training service around a number of issues including Access, Awareness of Disability, Equality & Diversity and the implications of the Disability Discrimination Act.

We have recently carried out work for the Learning & Skills Council delivering training on Motivation, Equality and Cultural Change to over 16's.

Consultancy

December 2006 saw the introduction of the new Disability Equality Duty that affects all public authorities and any organisation carrying out functions of a public nature. More information can be found here.

We offer an Access Audit service to firms in the area, which will highlight ways in which you can improve your services to better accommodate customers with disabilities that could result in increased sales.

Adapt (North East) can also undertake consultancy work for public service organisations wishing to address disability issues in planned new developments of their services.

Adapt (North East) has undertaken research work and written reports and presentations for a number of organisations including The Northumberland Care Trust.

"Adapt (North East) carried out a scoping exercise for Northumberland Care Trust in 2006 exploring the potential for developing mobile health and well-being resources in the rural West of Northumberland. We were very satisfied with the report produced... and with the approach A.D.A.P.T. took to completing the work. We were kept appraised of progress and were able to negotiate the shape of the final report throughout the term of the contract."
